Kotonodama 5 (コトノダマ 五, Kotonodama go) is the 85th chapter of the Yozakura Quartet manga.
Summary[]
Atop the roof of the Senate building, Hifumi creates a large burst of sound blowing a hole through the roof. Hifumi spots Akina and wonders who he is explaining her target to be a girl while carrying out two tasks to eliminate the girl and find an item. Hifumi picks up a pipe, hitting it on some rubble. The echoes travel across the room as Hifumi tries to deduce the amount of floors in the Senate building, ultimately deciding to use full power to reach the bottom. Hifumi blows a hole through the Senate building and finds a floor blocked by sound proof material. Hifumi attacks again, as Lucy stands inside her protected library and casually creates extra protections while sipping tea. Hifumi gives up and decides to take another route.
Ao notices what she believes to be an earthquake. Ao suggest using her Satellite ability to find out but is stopped by Hime who leaps on top a clockpost to scout out the area. Ao informs her that the sound came from the direction of the Senate and Hime notices the building to have changed shape. Ao tells Hime they should be okay since Kotoha is there and Hime agrees citing Akina to be there as well.
Kotoha faces off against her reflected flak cannon which goes off. Hifumi leaps to the bottom floor, pondering her inability to control her strength and the Kotodama user being her natural enemy mentioned to her.
Having managed to protect Kotoha with a Hidagyu knight, Lila deduces Hifumi to be a Yamabiko. Kotoha lies unconscious as Akina rushes to the scene. Lila carries the two to the bottom floor where they find Murasaki defeated. Murasaki tells them that he was not prepared to fight and tells them to hurry to stop the intruder stating if the get past the gate, humanity loses. Akina and his group find Uzu defending a sealed area from Hifumi using shikigami. Uzu shouts that protecting what is beyond the sealed area is the duty entrusted to him by the Lost Generation and it is humanity's last hope. Hifumi echoes Uzu shout of hope creating a large blast destroying the gate. Hifumi forgets what she was suppose to do with the item and leaves to ask, wondering how she will be punished. Kotoha wakes up as Akina observes the large pillar beyond the gate. Kotoha and Akina recognize the names of the pillar to those of their parents as Akina shouts asking what it is.
