Walking Pilgrimage 2 (メグリユク 2, Meguriyuku 2) is the 36th chapter of the Yozakura Quartet manga.
Summary[]
Calvani begs Chiaki to tune Mariabell and reaffirms that Chiaki has succeeded as Oyakume, to which Chiaki gloomily accepts. Yuhi tells the two to finish their conversation once to reach Sakurashinmachi.
In Sakurashinmachi, Yuhi notes how the town has changed and how he has missed it while ignoring Yae's surprise of how he has been there previously. Chiaki and Mariabell attempt to hide their faces with hoods but are nicely greeted by the citizens and remove their hoods, seeing no need to hide. Calvani bumps into Nana, knocking her over. Chiaki helps Nana up and she welcomes their new guest to their town before leaving to retrieve water. Calvani notes the high amount of yokai residents despite the fact that Sakurashinmachi is yokai go to be tuned.
Calvani explains to Yuhi and Yae that Mariabell is an undead human, artificially brought back to life. He states that after he dies there will be no one to care for her and that she willl slowly start to rot. Yuhi criticises Calvani for altering his own daughter’s life and death. Mariabell attempts to retort Yuhi but Calvani states Yuhi is correct. Calvani once agains asks for Chiaki to tune his daughter but Chiaki does not know how to respond. Yuhi leaves to building and Yae follows.
On the roof, Yae notices large trees and ask what type of trees they are. Yuhi tells Yae that they are cherry blossom and Yae realizes that they are the Nanagou. Yuhi explains the relationship between the Nanagou and the Hiizumis and how the Nanagou also became the source of falling. As Yuhi is explaining the concept of tuning and the otherworld falling energy drops from the sky landing in the distance. Yuhi and Yae rush to the source location along with Chiaki.
Chiaki, Yuhi, Yae. Calvani and Mariabell arrive at a bridge to find Nana who has fallen. Yuhi states that her fall was shallow and tells Chiaki to quickly exercise it. Chiaki hesitates and group is attacked by Nana. Nana charges at Chiaki and Chiaki confesses that he cannot tune. Yuhi intercepts Nana and Nana tackles Yuhi to the bridge. Nana slams downwards at Yuhi, destroying the bridge, but allowing Yuhi exorcise Nana. Mariabell attempts to grab the two but is unable to. Yuhi is able to grab onto the rope of the bridge and Mariabell pulls him and Nana up. Yuhi rest contemplating Chiaki's uselessness.
